Risks of a brow lift

In some cases the nerves that control the brow movement may be injured on one or both sides. This might result in the patient not being able to raise their eyebrows or wrinkle their forehead. If this happens it is usually temporary but it is advisable to speak to your doctor or surgeon to ensure that it won’t develop into something permanent.

If you have a traditional eyebrow lift another potential complication could be that the scar starts to widen and become more prominent. If this occurs, your doctor may suggest corrective surgery to create a new, thinner scar.

Patients often mention the loss of sensation along or just beyond the incision line. This is common, again, especially after a traditional eyebrow lift.

Temporary numbness will occur, but this will stop by itself usually in 3 or 4 months.  Some of hair around where you were cut may thin out a bit, but within 1 or 2 months it should be OK.

If you have any concerns about any of these potential complications or side effects don’t be afraid to discuss them with your doctor or surgeon before the operation.  Of course if you elect to have a natural face lift alot of this can be avoided!
